Beginner Group

This group is designed to be a temporary introductory group to transition kids who are brand new from tryouts to be able to join one of our developmental groups.


Practice is Monday and Wednesday from 12-1pm and you will need a swimsuit, a towel, a water bottle and shorts and a shirt to go over your swimsuit for dryland.


Skills Necessary to Enter:

  • Pass Swim/Jump test

Goals of The Group

  • Learn all basic body positions in diving
    • Tuck, pike, straight (For both front and back dives), Hand grab for head first dives, Starting positions for all dive directions.
  • Learn how to rock/bounce the board with rhythm.
  • Basic jumps on 1m and 3m springboards and platforms
    • Front and back jump straight, tuck and pike
  • Front lineup on side of pool and 1m (Falling forward entry)
  • Learn daily dryland warmup
  • Basic Modeling
    •        Back tuck comeouts
    • Front tuck comeouts
    • Lineup hand drills
    • Position holds (Hollow, plank, arch, tuck, pike)
  • Start to learn diving vocabulary
